The Parrot Heads of Pensacola are people that enjoy the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle. We are a group of people that not only like to party, but enjoy getting involved in a variety of community and environmental services with the idea of doing some good for humanity and for the planet.
Parrot Heads are fans of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, known for their love of his beach/rock/folk music and the tropical lifestyle he embodies, often seen at concerts wearing Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats.
The term “Parrothead” is said to have originated in Cincinnati in 1985, when Timothy B. Schmit, a former member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, jokingly referred to fans wearing tropical clothing and parrot hats as “Parrotheads”.
Parrot Heads of Pensacola is a member club of PHIP, a worldwide organization, which promotes the “party with a purpose” message and organizes events and activities for Parrot Heads, including charitable work and social gatherings.
Parrot Heads embrace a relaxed, tropical lifestyle, often seen as a form of escape from the everyday. They are known for their love of Buffett’s music, his jokes, and the overall “Margaritaville” vibe.
Parrot Heads are a diverse group, with clubs and chapters around the world, engaging in humanitarian work and social activities.
A documentary titled “Parrot Heads” explores the history and culture of the fan base, featuring interviews with Jimmy Buffett and other key figures.
Celebrated on June 28th, this day commemorates the origin of the term “Parrothead”.
The music genre of Jimmy Buffett and similar artists is known as Trop Rock, short for Tropical Rock.
Parrot Heads are known for their charitable work, with clubs raising money and volunteering for various causes.
There are over 200 parrothead clubs around the world that have donated $Millions and volunteered 1000s of hours.

- A quorum is defined as 1/2 the voting board plus 1. Currently 6 BOD members must be present vote on club business.
